VIRAVI is a non profit organization fighting to end all forms of violence against women. VIRAVI channels its efforts towards the prevention and providing timely response to violence through various means, including providing support services, raising awareness, advocating for policy changes, and challenging harmful social norms.

VIRAVI has three main focal areas.
Provision of direct support to Support for Survivors
Shelters and Safe Spaces
VIRAVI coordinates safe housing and support services for survivors of violence, including counselling, legal assistance, and access to immediate response resources.
Healthcare and Medical Support
We work collaboratively with other CSOs to ensure that victims of violence have access to necessary medical care, including specialized services for sexual assault and other forms of violence.
Psychosocial Support
VIRAVI offers counselling, therapy, and other forms of psychosocial support to help survivors heal from trauma and build resilience amongst the victims of violence.
Prevention and Education
Raising Awareness:
VIRAVI conducts awareness campaigns to educate the public about violence against women, its causes, and its consequences.
Challenging Social Norms:
We address the root causes of violence against women and work to change harmful social norms and attitudes that contribute to violence against women, such as gender stereotypes and the normalization of violence.
Promoting Gender Equality:
We promote and advocate for policies and programs that promote gender equality and empower women.
Community Engagement:
VIRAVI engages communities to develop strategies for preventing violence and promoting safety.
Education and Training:
We also provide education and training to professionals, such as police officers and healthcare providers, on how to respond to violence against women.
Advocacy and Policy Change
Lobbying and Advocacy:
VIRAVI is the leading advocate towards an end to violence against women in Uganda through advocating for changes in laws and policies to better protect women from violence.
Research and Data Collection:
We conduct research and collect data to better understand the problem of violence against women and inform interventions.
Collaboration:
VIRAVI works with Government Agencies, other NGOs, and community groups to address violence against women.
